Attempted Robbery:
On July 14, 2011, Sgt Eric Walker responded to a residence in Lexington Park for a reported attempted robbery. Sgt Walker learned the victim was in the vicinity of the CVS in Lexington Park waiting for the STS bus when she was approached by Ruben Arnoldo Gurreas-Hurnandaz 18 years old of Lexington Park. After a short conversation, Gurreas-Hurnandaz grabbed the victims book bag and attempted to flee. After a short struggle, the victim was able to maintain custody of their bag as the suspect fled. Gurreas-Hurnandaz was located by an off duty deputy sheriff and arrested. Ruben Arnold Gurreas-Hurnandaz was charged with Strong-Arm Robbery and released to the custody of the St. Mary’s County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
