Mechanicsville resident Lisa Millerโ€™s stellar performance was viewed by millions of viewers on national television on Thanksgiving Day. Miller was shown handling American Foxhound CH Kiarryโ€™s Pandoraโ€™s Box, otherwise known as Jewell, at the National Dog Show in Philadelphia on NBC on Thanksgiving Day and then repeated on Black Friday evening.

When we last heard of Jewell on the Bay Net she was appearing in the hound group competition at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in February. After a successful show season Jewell won the group competition at the National Dog Show on November 17 (the TV show was taped) and thus also won an appearance in the Best in Show competition, in which the seven best dogs from each group compete for the top award.

Although Jewell was bested by a Wire-Haired Fox Terrier for Best in Show, making the final cut is considered quite an achievement for the dog and everyone involved in her show career. She was bred by Lisa and her husband Harry and Lisa is part owner along with Ellen M. Charles of Washington, D.C.

Lisa and Harry are owners of Kiarry Kennels on Route 6 in Mechanicsville. They provide boarding, handling and site control services. For more information you can visit their website http://kiarrykennels.com/ย or call 301-884-4163.
