St. Mary’s County:

County Schools are running under normal schedule today.

Due to inclement weather the Nicolet Skate Park is closed for the day.

Weather Advisory

As of 8:00 a.m. today, the National Weather Service advised that St. Mary’s County will be experiencing strong winds from the North West gusting to 25-30 mph through this afternoon.  Winds will continue to increase into this evening and we could experience gusts up to 40 mph.

Temperatures will fall into the teens tonight with wind chills in the single digits overnight and zero by morning.

It is recommended that pets be brought indoors, if possible, otherwise provide proper shelter and bedding.  If you have any questions about proper shelter and /or bedding, you may contact the St. Mary’s County Animal Control at (301) 475-4200, ext. 2115, from 7:00 a.m. t0 4:00 p.m.  After 4:00 p.m. please call (301) 475-8016.

The Before and After School Centers in the public schools and Hollywood Recreation Center will open two hours late and the Early Bird Swim at the Great Mills Pool is cancelled. An announcement regarding all other morning programs will be made at approximately 7:00 a.m.

Liberal Leave is currently in effect for all County Government employees.

 

Charles County:

UPDATE: 2-15-2007

County Schools are closed today.  Code 2 for employees.

College of Southern Maryland is under a two hour delay.

Charles County Government offices are under a two hour delay.

There is a Code Red for employees.

Calvert County:

UPDATE:  2-15-2007

County Schools are running under a two hour delay today.

No other delays or closings have been announced.

Calvert County Public Schools Closed– Code Yellow for 12 Month Employees

Schools closed due to inclement weather for all students and 10-month employees.  All emergency personnel report as usual. All other 12-month employees report 2 hours late (Code Yellow).
