
Leonardtown, MD –The St. Maryโs County Sheriffโs Office reports that on Friday, June 12 Lt. David Yingling was stationary in his police car when he heard a thud.
The lieutenant discovered a hawk had hit the car and was injured. Yingling scooped the hawk up, gave it some water and called a rescue organization. The rescue folks responded immediately and are taking care of the hawk, which is believed to be endangered, until he can return to the wild.ย
The sheriffโs office is happy to report rescuers think the bird was only slightly injured and will be fine in no time.
