
Severn, MD โ Police in Anne Arundel County are investigating a shooting incident that occurred Saturday evening, July 9 and left two men dead. One of the men killed was from Calvert County, police reports stated.
According to published reports the incident, which occurred in Severn on Sandy Farm Road, is being described by investigators as an attempted home invasion. The two men found deadโTimothy John Kerr, 40 of Huntingtown; and Duwayne Thomas Mason, 42 of Columbiaโwere alleged to have tried to break into the home of John Matthew Garrison, 52.
According to an Anne Arundel County Police Department (AACPD) press release, responded to a residence on Sandy Farm Road shortly before midnight Saturday, July 9 for a report of a possible residential burglary. โUpon arrival officer located a male inside of the residence suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The male had forced his way into the residence through a window. He was transported to the Baltimore Washington Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.โ That man was later identified as Mason.
Kerr was found dead in a pickup truck located a short distance from the residence.
According to AACPD investigators, Kerr and Mason were shot at another residence during a confrontation with that resident, later identified as Garrison.
Police reported that during execution of a search warrant at the residence where the shooting occurred detectives located quantities of suspected crack cocaine, powder cocaine, marijuana, amphetamine, heroin and other drugs.
Garrison was charged with three misdemeanor charges of drug possession, three felony charges of drug possession with intent to distribute and a felony charge of possession of a firearm in relation to a drug trafficking crime. Garrison was reportedly being held in the Anne Arundel County Detention Center on $350,000 bond.
