Annapolis, MD — Maryland Lt. Governor Boyd K. Rutherford is a man with a mission, or rather a list. He’s created his own bucket list with the intention of visiting every state park and protected area in Maryland by the end of his term.

On Thursday, he checked off a stop with a visit to the Severn Run Natural Environment Area. in northern Anne Arundel County. The area includes 24 square miles of land and his home to many varied species of plants and wildlife.

“Severn Run Natural Environment Area is truly a gem of Anne Arundel County, providing an escape into nature just a stone’s throw from Interstate 97,” said Lt. Governor Rutherford

The area offers trails for trails for walking, running, or biking and a recreational fishing stream.
