At 12:30 p.m. May 14, Tpr. K. Shughart responded to Great Mills Road and South Shangri La, Lexington Park, for a reported collision.
During the investigation, contact was made with the at fault driver, William James Kolton, 41, of Valley Lee, and an odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected.
Kolton was subsequently arrested for DUI. A search incident to arrest was conducted. A smoking device containing marijuana was located in Kolton’s shoe.
Kolton was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of CDS Paraphernalia, DUI, and traffic violations. He was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held pending a bail review.
