PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – On December 24, 2018 Deputy Freeland responded to Circle Court, St. Leonard for the report of a burglary in progress.

The complainant advised his house alarm was set off and he observed a male staring through his window, banging on the window, saying “let me in”. The male broke the back door handle trying to get in the house. Deputy Freeland checked neighboring houses and made contact with Akili Isilwi Makins (21), who matched the description of the suspect. Makins was wearing muddy boots that matched a footprint left on the deck where the door handle was broken off.

Makins was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with Third Degree Burglary and Malicious Destruction of Property < $1,000.
