On July 7, St. Mary’s County Deputy Thompson responded to a residence on White Drive in Charlotte Hall, for a report of an assault.
Investigation revealed Raymond Jerome Curtis, 50 of Charlotte Hall, was involved in a verbal dispute with the victim over relationship issues. The verbal dispute escalated into a physical assault when Curtis grabbed the victim by the arms and shoved her to the floor. Curtis then struck the victim with an ashtray.
Curtis was arrested and charged with second-degree assault.
