On Jan. 2, DFC. McCarroll of the Calvert County Sheriff’s office responded to the Dash In Food Store on Chesapeake Beach Road in Owings for the report of a theft.
Police were told a man stole a cell phone at about 1:00 in the afternoon the day before.
A witness, and video tape surveillance revealed that a suspect, Mark S. Branson, 44, of North Beach, took an item out of a cell phone combo package and left the store without paying for the item.
DFC. McCarroll contacted Branson at his North Beach address. Branson admitted to stealing the item and he was arrested.
