UPDATE –
The Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating a house fire that occurred July 17, Tuesday afternoon. At approximately 2:30 p.m., crews responded to the 39500 block of Walnut Circle, Mechanicsville for the report of a fire.
Upon arrival, firefighters from the Mechanicsville VFD discovered a fire in the laundry room of the home and had the scene under control within five minutes. The cost of damage is estimated to be $1,000. The occupant, along with two dogs was able to escape the fire uninjured and is being assisted by family and friends. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
MECHANICSVILLE, Md. – On July 17 at 2:17 p.m., crews responded to the 39500 block of Walnut Circle, Mechanicsville for the report of smoke in a residence. Upon arrival units did not find any fires evident, however, investigation revealed a small fire in the home’s laundry room. Crews are on scene, use caution in the area.
