
LA PLATA, Md. — Charles County Public Schools will celebrate the Class of 2026 with graduation ceremonies scheduled June 2-4 at Regency Furniture Stadium. All ceremonies will be livestreamed at www.ccboe.com, where information about inclement weather plans is also available. The Class of 2026 has earned more than $205 million in scholarship offers.
The graduation schedule is as follows:
Tuesday, June 2
• Maurice J. McDonough High School, 9 a.m.
• Thomas Stone High School, 1 p.m.
• North Point High School, 5 p.m.
Wednesday, June 3
• Henry E. Lackey High School, 9 a.m.
• Westlake High School, 1 p.m.
Thursday, June 4
• La Plata High School, 9 a.m.
• St. Charles High School, 1 p.m.
Valedictorians and salutatorians for the Class of 2026 were recently announced and represent the top academic achievers among graduates at each high school. These positions are determined by students’ cumulative GPAs.


Henry E. Lackey High School’s Brylee Boyden is the valedictorian, with Savannah Murphy named salutatorian. Boyden plans to attend the University of Maryland, College Park, to major in aerospace engineering. Murphy will attend the University of Tennessee in Knoxville to study graphic design.



Ella Luton is the valedictorian of La Plata High School. Following graduation, Luton plans to study biology at Salisbury University. Joyce Kang and Gaven Wu tied for the salutatorian spot. Kang plans to attend Johns Hopkins University, where she will major in molecular and cellular biology. Wu plans to study chemical engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park.


Maurice J. McDonough High School’s valedictorian is Cynclair Wilson, with Joseph Ojukwu taking the salutatorian role. Wilson will attend the University of Maryland, College Park, where she will study engineering with a concentration in environmental science and policy. She plans to attend law school following college. Ojukwu will major in electrical engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park, and may pursue becoming a priest after college.


Arjun Garg of North Point High School is the school’s valedictorian, and Noah Williams is the salutatorian. Garg will attend the University of Maryland, College Park, to study mechanical engineering. Williams will attend Princeton University to major in political science and economics.


St. Charles High School is led by Carly Newman as valedictorian and Ryan Gloria as salutatorian. Newman plans to attend Boston University to major in chemistry with a minor in medical anthropology on a pre-med track. Gloria will attend the University of Maryland, College Park, through the guaranteed admission pathway in the School of Nursing.


Amahyree Wells is the valedictorian for Thomas Stone High School, with Samantha Grace named salutatorian. Wells plans to major in mechanical engineering and architecture at the University of Maryland, College Park, as a Banneker/Key Scholar. Grace will attend the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where she will major in social work.


At Westlake High School, Christopher Chubbs Jr. is the valedictorian and Bianca Lepe is the salutatorian. Chubbs plans to study computer science with a concentration in cybersecurity at the University of Maryland, College Park. He received the full Banneker/Key Scholarship. Lepe plans to major in biochemistry and molecular biology at the University of California, Davis.
The Class of 2026 includes 2,260 graduates among seven high schools. Scholarship totals are expected to increase as more offers are received.

• La Plata High School: 274 graduates, $24,852,744 in scholarship offers.
• Maurice J. McDonough High School: 304 graduates, $22,979,851 in scholarship offers.
• North Point High School: 458 graduates, $61,473,975 in scholarship offers.
• St. Charles High School: 396 graduates, $31,108,517 in scholarship offers.
• Thomas Stone High School: 293 graduates, $23,389,568 in scholarship offers.
• Westlake High School: 303 graduates, $22,000,024 in scholarship offers.
