ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Anne Arundel County’s fifth graders submitted their best designs to the annual Mother’s Day jewelry design contest hosted by longtime Annapolis business Zachary’s Jewelers. Zachary’s is excited to announce the winners, chosen from an incredibly talented group of young artists.
Fifth graders were invited this past March to design a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry inspired by moms or caregivers who mean the most to them. Students submitted their drawings, along with a short handwritten story explaining the inspiration behind the design.
Zachary’s picked three winners and created their designs. The business also donated $500 to each winner’s school art program.
Congratulations to all the winners! Check out their designs and stories below.
Hannah, St. Anne’s School of Annapolis
Hannah’s design was inspired by butterflies and the safety moms provide for their children.

Eliana, Two Rivers Elementary in Odenton
Eliana honored her mom’s birth country of Ethiopia and the significance of daisies in their lives.

Chelsea, Cape St. Clare Elementary in Annapolis
Chelsea’s design is inspired by the resilience of her brave mom and the strength and teamwork within her family.
