
Lexington Park, MD – A St. Maryโs County family was displaced Sunday morning, April 23 after a fire caused $50,000 damage to their mobile home, state investigators reported. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshalโs Office, the blaze was discovered by an occupant of the home on Sue Drive in Lexington Park shortly before 4 a.m. The fire originated in a bedroom.
Thirty-two firefighters were dispatched to the one-alarm fire and brought the flames under control in 20 minutes. No injuries were reported.
โThe fire occurred as a result of a malfunctioning appliance,โ a deputy fire marshal reported. โFive adults and two children were displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross.โ
The state fire marshalโs office identified the owner of the mobile home as Macie Briscoe.
