April 23 Lexington Park mobile home fire

Lexington Park, MD – A St. Maryโ€™s County family was displaced Sunday morning, April 23 after a fire caused $50,000 damage to their mobile home, state investigators reported. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshalโ€™s Office, the blaze was discovered by an occupant of the home on Sue Drive in Lexington Park shortly before 4 a.m. The fire originated in a bedroom.

Thirty-two firefighters were dispatched to the one-alarm fire and brought the flames under control in 20 minutes. No injuries were reported.

โ€œThe fire occurred as a result of a malfunctioning appliance,โ€ a deputy fire marshal reported. โ€œFive adults and two children were displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross.โ€

The state fire marshalโ€™s office identified the owner of the mobile home as Macie Briscoe.
