On July 19 at 4:30 p.m., a Charles County Sheriff’s officer initiated a traffic stop in the 6600 block of Crain Highway after noticing a motorcycle was not displaying registration plates.
As the officer approached the motorcycle, the driver attempted to flee. The officer was able to stop the driver and a struggle ensued. The driver, Lynn Young, 22 of Landover, was charged with assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, and traffic offenses. Officer M.A. Bourgeois investigated.
