Prince Frederick, MD – A large crowd looking for some summer fun under the stars gathered at field across the street from the Calvert County Courthouse in Prince Frederick Saturday evening, July 25. The event was billed “Movies on Main Street.”
The plan was to show the Tom Hanks’ classic late 1980s fantasy “Big.”
There was one slight problem, however. The event organizer told The BayNet that due to a contract snafu the rented widescreen needed to show the movie never made it to Prince Frederick. Therefore, the showing of the flick had to be scuttled.
The evening was indeed not a total loss. The crowd enjoyed free food—juicy burgers and franks grilled right on the spot, soda and water plus candy.
Additionally, there was a live concert by one of Southern Maryland’s favorite groups, Rockfish.
The quartet performs a blend of folk, bluegrass, blues and rock. While their playlist includes covers, the group also features many original compositions. Rockfish entertained the crowd for over an hour.
