Newburg Marine Sales Closing

NEWBURG, Md. — After almost five decades in business, Newburg Marine has officially closed, marking the end of an era for a well-known Southern Maryland landmark. The dealership, located along U.S. Route 301 just before the Harry W. Nice Memorial/Senator Thomas “Mac” Middleton Bridge, was a familiar sight to generations of travelers passing through Charles County.

To liquidate all remaining assets, a final public auction will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 9 a.m., conducted both in person and online by Hayes Auction Services. The auction will take place at the dealership, located at 12145 Crain Highway, Newburg, MD 20664.

The closure means everything must go, including new boats, motors, trailers, marine parts, shop supplies, tools and office furniture. Calls to the dealership will go unanswered — the phone line is no longer in service.

A preview day is scheduled for Friday, July 25, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., giving potential buyers an opportunity to inspect items before the sale.

Whether you stopped in for gear or simply passed it on your way to the bridge, Newburg Marine was a fixture in Southern Maryland.
