
WALDORF, Md. — Emergency responders were dispatched Monday afternoon after a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Country Lane and Elm Street in Waldorf, prompting concern for an infant seen inside one of the vehicles.
The crash occurred just after 1:30 p.m. on July 28, 2025, drawing calls to 911 from witnesses and nearby residents. While initial reports described unknown injuries, one caller reported seeing a female occupant and a baby inside one of the vehicles. Another caller advised that the woman and infant appeared to be trapped.
Charles County Sheriff’s Office officers arrived on scene shortly before 1:40 p.m., and fire and EMS were dispatched for possible extrication. Authorities later confirmed there was no entrapment.
A 6-month-old infant and a 30-year-old woman were both checked by medics on scene. Neither was transported to the hospital.
By 2:30 p.m., units began clearing the scene and normal traffic flow resumed.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
