Northrop Grumman Corporation was honored Wednesday, April 10 for its current and continuing support of the St. Maryโ€™s County Public Schoolsโ€™ (SMCPS) STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) programs. At the regular school board meeting a certificate of appreciation was presented to Corporate Lead Executive Scott Stewart.

This year Northrop Grumman contributed $5,000 for the countyโ€™s STEM for All Initiative. For several years the company has provided scholarships for the STEM program.

Steward told the meeting attendees: As a global technology leader Northrop Grumman really values the STEM program.โ€

According to information presented at the meeting, Northrop Grummanโ€™s support โ€œhas allowed us to make a significant impact on the learning that takes place in our schools each day. Their sponsorship will help SMCPS move towards our goal of incorporating an enhanced program in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics for all students.โ€

Also honored at the ceremony was Mike Kibler, who is coordinator of the companyโ€™s STEM Program for the Pax River area and who was unable to attend.
