
Great Mills, MD— On Feb.8, the Maryland State Police Tpr. Marquis Johnson responded to Liberty Street in Great Mills, MD for a domestic dispute,ย
When Trooper ย Johnson arrived, he made contact with the suspect Sydney E. Johnson, of Great Mills, who was outside of the apartment. According to charging documents, “she was very upset that her boyfriend would not give her the cell phone. Johnson also stated she was also upset that her boyfriend did not have a job.”ย
Johnson asked the suspect if anyone has assaulted her and she replied no. Johnson did not see any physical signs of injuries to the suspect. The victim stated, “that he was at the union longer than expected because the union was doing one-on-one interviews and had to wait his turn.”ย
The victim also stated, “a verbal argument started when Johnson grabbed the handle of a black vacuum cleaner and smacked the victim on his left hand leaving an open cut below his pinkie. Johnson also smacked the victim on the lips leaving a minor cut on the top and bottom lips,” according to charging documents.ย
Johnson was placed under arrest and transported to St.Mary’s County Detention Center where she was charged with assault second-degree.ย
Johnson at this time does not have a scheduled court date. Johnson does face a maximum jail sentence of 10 years and or a maximum fine of $2,500.ย
