Adult Classes:

Intermediate Water Color: The Rapture Continues… This class starts on October 15, 2013 with additional dates from October 15 through November 5. This class is a 4-class series and runs from 1:00pm to 4:00pm every Tuesday. The member cost is $85, and $95 for nonmembers. There is also a materials fee for this class and a materials list is provided at registration. Mary Blumberg will be the instructor for this class and it is for intermediate students. Beginning Watercolor: Start with a Swoosh! Join us for this beginner’s watercolor series class! The class starts on October 17, and runs through November 7. Come capture the beauty around you and learn to love watercolor painting.  Watch colors mix and mingle and learn basic tips and techniques to get started. This class is a 4-class series and runs from 1:00pm to 4:00pm every Thursday. The member cost is $85, and $95 for nonmembers. Garden Botanicals: a Drawing and Painting Workshop. This class will be held on October 19, from 10am until 4pm with a member cost of $70 and $75 for nonmembers. There is a materials fee and the materials list is provided at registration. The course is designed for beginning and intermediate students interested in developing strong color skills in watercolor and its techniques. Students will have an opportunity to hone their drawing and compositional skills while capturing botanical forms.

Instructor Mary Ellen Carsley will discuss how to make various media from botanical sources, creating stained papers in a field sketching environment. Sea Glass Jewelry on October 6, 2013 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Instructor Liz Printz will be teaching students how to create a beautiful pendant and matching earrings with sea glass found on local Southern Maryland beaches. Students will learn quick, easy assembly techniques to incorporate found beach objects into fun, creative jewelry. The member cost is $25 and $30 for nonmembers. Torch-Fired Enamel Earrings. Join instructor Mickey Kunkle for a fun and fiery day as you learn to use a simple torch to create beautiful enameled earrings. Create an assortment of earrings or small charms as you master this tool and experiment with a variety of enamel powders. Beginners welcome!
