LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — A Lexington Park woman is facing drug charges after deputies serving an outstanding warrant at a Weis Market allegedly found a glass smoking device containing suspected crack cocaine residue inside her purse.
Amanda Lynn Grumbine, 43, was charged in the District Court for St. Mary’s County with possession of a controlled dangerous substance other than cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to charging documents, a St. Mary’s County sheriff’s deputy observed Grumbine at approximately 6:40 p.m. July 25, 2026, near the Weis Market in the 21600 block of Great Mills Road in Lexington Park.
Emergency communications confirmed that Grumbine had an active warrant, prompting deputies to respond to the shopping center.
Court documents state a deputy saw Grumbine walking out of the Weis Market and advised her that she was under arrest on the outstanding warrant.
A search incident to the arrest initially found nothing on her person. Grumbine allegedly told deputies that she had a “stem” inside her purse.
Investigators identified the item as a glass smoking device commonly used to smoke controlled substances, specifically crack cocaine, according to the statement of probable cause.
After removing the device from the purse, deputies allegedly observed white residue suspected to be crack cocaine and burned residue on the bottom of the glass.
Grumbine was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center for processing.
Court records show she was released on a $2,000 unsecured personal bond.
A trial is scheduled for Sept. 17, 2026, in St. Mary’s County District Court.
