Orlando, FL – A man who pledged allegiance to ISIS murdered over 50 people and injured at least 53 more in a gay Orlando nightclub early Sunday morning. The terror attack marks the largest mass shooting in American history and the worst terror attack on American soil since 911.
The terrorist was identified as American-born Omar Mateen of Fort Pierce, Florida. According to various reports, Mateen called 911 just before the terror attack to pledge allegiance to ISIS and proudly alluded to the Boston terror attacks as inspiration. Mateen had been monitored the last two years by the FBI, who expressed concern that Mateen may be a threat to the country’s safety.
