WALDORF, Md. โ€” A late-night fire that began in a residential garage on Bridle Path Drive spread rapidly through a Waldorf home Saturday night, prompting a two-alarm response and extensive firefighting operations that lasted several hours.

The fire was reported just after 9:30 p.m. on March 29, at a residence in the 2200 block of Bridle Path Drive. Emergency crews arrived to find the home fully engulfed in flames, with fire visible from the garage and extending to the rest of the structure. A propane tank reportedly ignited as well, adding to the risk.

Residents also reported that pets were trapped inside the burning home. There is no confirmed update at this time on animal rescues.

Fire crews from multiple Charles County stations worked through the night to control the blaze, with tactical operations taking place across all levels of the structure, including the basement. Command reported the fire under control shortly before 11 p.m., but crews remained on scene well past midnight conducting overhaul and ensuring all hot spots were extinguished.

No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
