Park Rock Fest Will Rock from Morning to Night

Park Rock Fest is back for its fifth consecutive year this Labor Day weekend, Sept. 1 and 2, with over 125 Bands rocking out on five stages.

Park Rock Fest 2007 will be held at the Chancellors Run Regional Park in Great Mills. The event is produced by Power Jam Music Alliance and sponsored by St Mary’s County as an end of summer celebration of cutting edge and contemporary music from the community.

As there was last year, there will be four stages, each featuring bands performing a wide range of rock styles, as in past years, including: Metal, Hardcore, Classic Rock, Punk, EMO, Scremo, Alternative, Independent, Pop, Hard Rock, Folk Rock, and Acoustic.

New for this year is a fifth stage which features Go-Go, R&B, and Hip Hop.

Each of the stages will be MC’d by a featured comedian that was selected from a comedian competition organized by international comedian Ian Sal in DC.

In this dispatch we will spotlight the bands performing on the United Rentals North Stage. However you take your metal and rock, it will be on this stage. See program listing at bottom of page.

For the Hardcore fans come see Malice Vitality, Death Among Heros or Catching Theives. You want death metal? Then go for Subliminal Cruelty, and Downfall. How about some new metal – then it’s Soundbreak and Below Sixth. Looking for some industrial metal? Try the White Shadow. Our event ends with the blues hard metal sounds of Kneel to Zod and Arsenic. There are 30 bands total on this stage with a solid 24 hours of head shaking, body rattling metal that is not to be missed.

Surrounding the stages there are local vendors and groups in the food court, marketplace and community center. The gates for Park Rock Fest open at 9 a.m. and close at 11 p.m. Tickets for each day are $15 in advance and $20 at the gate.
