LEONARDTOWN, Md. — The show went on despite the rain and wind at the 14th annual Park Rock Fest, hosted this year at St. Maryโs County Fairgrounds.
The festival was advertised to have three stages of live, non-stop music, but due to the weather, the event was limited to two stages.
โWe also decided to only have one day this year instead of two because of the weather. Weโre learning from this event, and hope to move the date for next yearโs and maybe it wonโt rain on us again,โ said Fred, one of the event coordinators.ย
In conjunction with St. Mary’s County Parks and Recreation, St. Mary’s County Commissioners, and Maryland State Arts Council, the event brings together the Power Jam Music Alliance (PJMA) bands in one huge outdoor community event, said Fred. โThe PJMA members are musicians who share their musical talent to better the community welfare. The band member base extends across the US and Canada.”
Artists and groups who performed at the event include: Carousel Kings, Jamall Anthony, Angel Vivaldi, The Great Heights Band, With Lying Eyes, Allie, Alukah, August Winters, Bad Off, Car Crash Poetry, Deadbeat Holiday, Encasing Embrace, Grievances, Jessica St. Clair, Maggie Mae, Minds Like Mirrors, Silent on Fifth Street, Start the Scene, Subject to Change, and Underdog Champs.
Event sponsors include: Mango Party Productions, Wyle Laboratories, Southern Maryland Online, Metrocast, Holiday Inn Express and Suites of California, La Quinta of California, Benโs Chili Bowl, TheBayNet.com, Checkers, St. Maryโs County Recreation and Parks Department, Maryland State Arts Council, Lack Love Productions, St. Maryโs County Republican Central Committee, St. Maryโs County Arts Council, and Hot Licks Guitar Shop of Waldorf.
