Guilty court case

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — A Pasadena man has been sentenced to decades in prison after a jury found him guilty of firing more than 20 rounds into a home occupied by adults and a young child, according to the Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Montrelle Alusine Musa, 28, was sentenced on March 30, 2026, by Anne Arundel County Circuit Court Judge Pamela Alban to 75 years in prison, with all but 25 years suspended. He will serve 25 years in the Division of Correction, followed by five years of supervised probation upon release.

A jury convicted Musa on December 12, 2025, of six counts of first-degree assault, use of a firearm in a felony crime of violence, possession of a firearm with a felony conviction, and related firearms offenses.

Prosecutors said the charges stem from a January 12, 2025, shooting in the 7800 block of Huff Court in Pasadena. Police responded around 10:47 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire at a residence occupied by five adults and a 6-year-old child.

Investigators determined that more than 20 rounds were fired into the home. Officers observed multiple bullet holes in a wall directly above a sofa where an adult and the child had been sitting moments earlier.

State’s Attorney Anne Colt Leitess emphasized the danger of the incident, noting that no one was physically injured despite the volume of gunfire.

“It is a miracle that no one sustained injuries in this reckless and dangerous act of violence,” Leitess said. “A six-year-old child was nearly hit when this Defendant sprayed bullets indiscriminately toward a home.”

The following day, on January 13, 2025, officers responded to a crash involving a stolen white 2017 Infiniti Q60. When police attempted a traffic stop, the driver fled before crashing into a construction vehicle. The suspect was taken into custody after a brief foot chase and identified as Musa.

Authorities said Musa was found in possession of a Glock 19 handgun at the time of his arrest.

Ballistics testing later linked the firearm to the Pasadena shooting. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives used the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network to match shell casings recovered at the scene to the handgun recovered from Musa.

Detectives also reviewed surveillance footage from the Freetown community, which showed the stolen Infiniti entering and leaving the area around the time of the shooting.

According to prosecutors, sentencing guidelines ranged from 12 to 95 years. The state had requested a 50-year active sentence, citing Musa’s history and the threat posed to public safety.

Assistant State’s Attorney Joshua Adrian prosecuted the case. The investigation was conducted by the Anne Arundel County Police Department.

A hearing is set for probation upon release following the completion of his sentence.
