Topeka, KS – โ€œFiling bankruptcy and closing all your stores?? Where the hell am I supposed to get shoes to fit me?โ€ Wrote a frustrated customer on Payless Shoe Sourceโ€™s Facebook page Friday, Feb. 15 as word began to spread that the retailer was closing all 2,110 of its stores in the United States. At one time Payless had 4,400 stores.

In 2017 the company closed over 2,000 locations as it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
The retailer will begin liquidating at all locations Sunday, Feb. 17. According to reports from several publications, Payless Shoe Source has also discontinued all online sales.
Payless had four locations in Southern Maryland, including two in Waldorf, one in California and one in Prince Frederick.

A Payless spokeswoman told the New York Times said that the stores would โ€œremain open through the end of March, with many open until May.โ€
