Three Charged After Lexington Park Traffic Stop Leads To Suspected Cocaine, Smoking Devices

LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — Three people were charged after a traffic stop in Lexington Park led deputies to suspected cocaine residue and multiple smoking devices, according to charging documents.

Linda Marie Bond, 31, of Leonardtown; Benjamin James Gill, 41, of Dameron; and Jerome Washington, 49, of Lexington Park, were charged following the June 9, 2026, incident.

Bond was charged with two counts of CDS possession-not cannabis and two counts of CDS possession of paraphernalia. Gill was charged with three counts of CDS possession-not cannabis and three counts of CDS possession of paraphernalia. Washington was charged with two counts of CDS possession-not cannabis and two counts of CDS possession of paraphernalia.

A St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office deputy reported that he was conducting routine patrols on southbound Three Notch Road near Poplar Ridge Road in Lexington Park when he saw a white Volkswagen Jetta traveling northbound.

Charging documents state the deputy recognized the vehicle from prior police encounters and knew the registration was expired. The same vehicle had reportedly been stopped earlier that morning for the same issue.

The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, but it allegedly made an immediate right turn onto David Way, a dead-end street. Charging documents state the deputy believed the turn was consistent with an attempt to evade law enforcement.

A short time later, a traffic stop was conducted in the area of David Way in Lexington Park. Bond was identified as the operator of the vehicle, and Gill and Washington were identified as occupants.

During the stop, Bond was asked to exit the vehicle. When the driver’s door opened, the deputy reported seeing an improvised glass smoking device containing white powdery residue in the driver’s door in plain view. The deputy wrote that the residue was believed to be cocaine.

The remaining occupants were removed from the vehicle, and a search was conducted.

Charging documents state deputies found a small rubber container containing suspected cocaine residue in the center console area near where Bond had been seated.

A search of Gill allegedly found a ripped plastic baggie containing suspected cocaine residue in his right pants pocket. Deputies also allegedly found two improvised glass smoking devices containing suspected cocaine residue in Gill’s left pants pocket.

A search of the front passenger area allegedly revealed an improvised glass smoking device containing suspected cocaine residue under the front passenger seat, where Washington had been sitting. A search of Washington allegedly found another improvised glass smoking device containing suspected cocaine residue in his left pants pocket.

Court records show Bond posted a $700 unsecured personal bond on June 9. Gill posted a $500 unsecured personal bond the same day. Washington was released on recognizance.

A trial is set for all three on Aug. 17 in St. Mary’s County District Court.
