William F. Scriber, aged 55 of Morganza, was pronounced dead at 12:17 pm, on September 17th. He died at Prince Georges Trauma Center where he was being treated after being hit by a pickup truck.
The accident occurred the previous day in Lexington Park, on Rt. 246 west of Shangri-la Drive. According to police, Scriber was under the influence of alcohol when was crossing the roadway, at 10:21 pm, and stepped in front of a truck.
Sylvester W. Ball, age 52, of Lexington Park, was the driver of the Ford pickup that struck Scriber while traveling west bound on Rte 246.
Scriber was flown to Prince Georges Trauma Center for treatment of his critical injuries.
The driver, Sylvester Ball, was not injured.
According to police, speed does not appear to be a factor in the accident, and no charges have been filed, although the investigation continues.
