Update: November 12, 2019 –ย The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit would like to talk to anyone who witnessed or has information about a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run in Upper Marlboro last Friday night. The striking driver did not remain on the scene. Investigators continue to work to identify the victim killed in the collision. He is an adult African American male.

On November 8th, at approximately 9:20 pm, the striking car was heading eastbound on Martin Luther King Junior Highway approaching Whitfield Chapel Road. A witness tells investigators the striking car moved into the right turn lane to pass vehicles stopped at a red traffic light. As that driver went around the cars, he struck the victim who was walking along the right side of the roadway, on or near the fog line. The victim died on the scene. The driver did not stop.

The striking car, described as a white sedan, may have suffered damage to the right front headlight area.

Lanham, MD – Yesterday on November 8, 2019, Prince George’s County Police Department were on the scene of a fatal pedestrian struck on MLK Jr Hwy and Whitfield Chapel Rd around 9:25pm.ย  The car was traveling SB on MLK Jr Hwy.ย  For reasons which remain under investigation, struck an adult male walking on the side of the road.ย The car did not remain on scene.
