Lexington Park, MD— On March.16, St.Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Dfc. Skyler LeFave responded to an assault on Lucca Way in Lexington Park.

When LeFave arrived on the scene contact was made with the victim who was found suffering from multiple injuries to include a stab wound to her torso.ย 

Detectives made contact with a witness who advised, “the suspect had come to the house uninvited and came to the front door. She stated a male occupant of the residence familiar with the defendant answered the door, and an argument ensued,” according to charging documents.ย 

The witness also advised, “the defendant continued banging on the door and ringing the doorbell despite being told to stop and to leave,” according to charging documents. “The victim came downstairs, opened the rear door, and confronted the defendant when she (victim) was struck in the face by the defendant and a struggle ensued. Moments later, the witness observed the defendant pull a pink knife out her pocket and stab the victim in the torso and then again in the lip before fleeing the area.”ย 

A large amount pf blood was observed just inside the rear entrance of the residenceย as well as in the living room where the victim ultimately collapsed to the floor awaiting medical assistance.ย 

The defendant was identified as Nicole T. Middleton, 30, of no fixed address. Photographic lineups containing the defendant’s image were shownย to both the witness and the victim, who both positively identified Middleton as the defendant.ย 

Middleton was charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault and trespass private property. Middleton at this time does not have a scheduled court date.ย 

Middleton faces a maximum jail sentence of 35 years and three months and/or a maximum fine of $3,000.
