A garage burned to the ground early July 4, and one firefighter received a minor facial injury containing the blaze, which also destroyed three cars.

The 20×20 garage on River Road in Tall Timbers reportedly contained a stash of fireworks. Volunteer firefighters contended with exploding fireworks for the 30 minutes it took to drench the flames.

Thirty-six volunteer firefighters from Valley Lee, Leonardtown and Bay District firehouses responded.

The Maryland State Fire Marshalโ€™s Office is investigating. The cause has not yet been determined.

The estimated loss value is $100,000.
