At 8:53 . p.m. Oct. 23, TFC S. Van Bennekum of the Leonardtown barracks responded to Morgan Road in Hollywood for a reported domestic assault.
The male advised that no physical altercation occurred and stated that the female was in the bedroom.
The female was identified as Carol Beaver-Knights, 40, of Hollywood, and police say a check through Miles/NCIC revealed that she had an open warrant through the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Department for Domestic Assault.
Beaver-Knights was located in the bedroom, and as TFC Van Bennekum entered the room to speak with her, he observed she was smoking from a metal pipe.
When she noticed the officer, she quickly hid the pipe under her legs, police say, and she produced the pipe which contained suspected marijuana when asked what she was hiding.
She was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia. She was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center, processed, served with the open warrant and held pending a bail review.
