WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Joseph R. Biden has ordered the United States Flag to be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 in honor of National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.  This action commemorates those Americans who died as a result of their service at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. As a matter of protocol, the Maryland flag is lowered to half-staff. No flag may fly higher than the United States flag.

After sunset on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, the United States Flag and Maryland Flag will continue to fly at half-staff until sunset, Thursday, December 9, 2021 for the passing of former United States Senator Robert Joseph Dole.
