The Loffler Senior Activity Center, located at Chancellorโs Run Regional Park in Great Mills, remains closed due to a partial roof collapse during the snow storm on Feb. 10 but services and programs will continue.
Meal service continues for Home Delivered Meals recipients served from the Loffler Senior Activity Center. Some seniors who have been attending the Loffler Center are attending programs and meals at the Garvey Senior Activity Center in Leonardtown and the Northern Senior Center in Charlotte Hall. Seniors who had been using County transportation services are now being transported to the Garvey Center.
Alternate locations for senior center programs in the Lexington Park area are being investigated. Several temporary sites are being considered to accommodate the variety of programs normally offered at the Loffler Center in one safe, convenient location. Priority services include the continuation of exercise and social recreation programs, as well as the congregate meals and the Meals on Wheels program.
