NAVAL AIR STATION PATUXENT RIVER, Md. – Naval Air Station Patuxent River (NAS Pax River) Environmental Restoration Team are in the process of updating the NAS Pax River Environmental Restoration Program’s Community Involvement Plan (CIP).  The CIP is a published guide for maintaining a community involvement program focusing on the Environmental Restoration Program (ERP) at NAS Pax River.

The purpose and objectives of the Community Involvement Program are as follows:

Community Involvement Purpose:  Maintain a high level of community understanding and support for the environmental program at NAS Pax River.
Community Involvement Objectives:  Inform the community about cleanup actions and provide opportunities for the public to offer input into the decision-making process.

As part of the CIP updates, the Navy developed a brief survey questionnaire so that interested community members may provide input.  The survey is intended to identify environmental topics of interest and concerns within the community regarding the environmental restoration process and obtain suggestions on how the Navy can continue to promote community involvement in a convenient and effective manner.

This survey is available online on SurveyMonkey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/JQJFJKG

Additional information about the NAS Pax River ERP can be found at the ERP’s public website https://www.navfac.navy.mil/products_and_services/ev/products_and_services/env_restoration/installation_map/navfac_atlantic/washington/nas_patuxent_river.html

Please take a few minutes to fill out the online survey by March 22, 2019.  The responses to this survey will be included in the updated CIP to continue promoting public participation in the decision-making process as the environmental actions at NAS Pax River are completed. The updated CIP will be available at the NAS Pax River Repository (St. Mary’s County Public Library and NAS Pax River Library) and at the ERP’s public website.
