Charles County Sheriff’s Office PFC J. Garner attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of Middletown Road and Lexington Drive in Waldorf on September 8th at 11:27 p.m. for speeding.

The driver of the vehicle refused to stop and a pursuit ensued. The driver stopped in front of his residence in the 6100 block of Sirennia Place where he got out of the vehicle, ran into the backyard and attempted to go inside of his house.

Officers ordered the suspect to the ground but the suspect refused. PFC Garner deployed his taser and was able to quickly apprehend the suspect.

A search of the vehicle revealed the driver, Nisheen Martelle Stephens, 41, of Waldorf, was in possession of crack cocaine.

Stephens was arrested and charged with resisting arrest, possession of crack cocaine, fleeing and eluding and was given several other citations. PFC Garner investigated.
