Thousands of wine lovers made their way to Sotterly Plantation Oct. 2 and 3 for Riverside Winefest 2010. Twenty-two Maryland wineries were on hand, offering samples of their best products and details about how they were made. For a list of participating wineries, click here.
The annual event combines wine-tasting with music and food, providing an enjoyable festival atmosphere on the grounds of the beautiful historic plantation. Demonstrations offered tips on how to perform a wine-tasting and how to make the delectable drink.

Children’s games and crafts offered something for the younger crowd and art from The Color and Light Society complimented the affair. Wine-related gifts and artisan creations were also available .

TheBAYNET.com and BayNet Radio were there on Sunday, Oct. 3 to capture the fun at the highly-anticipated local soiree. John Hunt interviewed representatives from participating wineries, many of whom said they look forward to being part of Winefest every year.

A large number of visitors attended the event on the sunny and mild Saturday, but rain didn’t stop attendees from making their way out for the festivities on Sunday.ย Many donned ponchos and sipped their wine beneath umbrellas, with smiles and happy taste buds still in place.
