LEONARDTOWN, Md. – Patuxent Habitat for Humanity’s Veteran Critical Repair Program is kicking things up a notch, with the help of Christmas in April Calvert County!
The Bakley’s in Leonardtown, MD received some help with getting a ramp built for Sam who is an Army veteran and has had some health issues recently. Sam & Debbie also received assistance with a plumbing problem that caused the sink to leak into the floor. With the help from amazing volunteers, Patuxent Habitat, Christmas In April Calvert County and EMAC (Exelon Militaries Actively Connected), we completed the ramp, subflooring replacement, removal & reinstallation of damaged cabinetry & countertops with new base cabinets, countertop, sink and faucet.
The new flooring will be installed next, which will complete the repairs to the Bakley’s home. The Bakley repair is the second one this year and we have at least eight more veteran repairs in the works, thanks to a grant from Weinberg Foundation and community donations!
We ALWAYS need volunteers for these projects if you would like to give something back to someone who has given of themselves for our freedom please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 301-8663-6227×16.
