Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) [NYSE: SAI] announced that it will dedicate its new building, SAIC at Park Place, in California, Md., during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on March 19, at 11 a.m. Invited guests include State Sen. Roy Dyson, Maryland State Delegates, John F. Wood and John Bohanan, local government officials, and SAIC leadership. The building is located at 45310 Abell House Lane.

SAIC employees have worked with its neighbors, the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) and Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), by providing systems engineering, management, administrative, and logistics services for more than two decades. SAICโ€™s naval aviation support spans platforms and technology to provide services that range from developmental support to flight testing.

SAIC at Park Place houses 10 state-of-the-art laboratories. Within the labs, SAIC experts provide command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence research, development, test, and evaluation; hardware and software development and integration; simulator evaluation; geospatial information; and various other science, engineering, technology, and production services.

The 80,000-square-foot facility allowed SAIC to consolidate five locations formerly in nearby areas. More than 230 employees currently work in the Park Place facility. The building is constructed to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEEDยฎ) silver certification for its environmentally innovative construction, which has resulted in energy savings, water use efficiencies, and carbon dioxide emissions reduction.

โ€œThis building represents our commitment to our customers, including NAVAIR and NAWCAD, as well as to St. Maryโ€™s County and our local community,โ€ said Jim Thigpen, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager. โ€œOur customers and the community will benefit from our employees being together in the same building, allowing for more efficient collaboration and teamwork.โ€
