The wind may have been minimal but the giving was bountiful as Calvert Hospice recently received a $1200 check as a result of the 2014 Sail 4 Youth charity regatta.ย  Founded by Stovy Brown in 2006, the Sail 4 Youth regatta donates funding to three local organizations: Calvert Hospice, the Southern Maryland Sailing Foundation and the Rotary Club of Prince Frederick.

โ€œThis is a fun way to raise money for three important Calvert County nonprofits,โ€ stated Stovy Brown.ย  โ€œWe want to support these organizations for the services they provide to our Calvert County youth.โ€

โ€œWe are so appreciative of not only this contribution but also Stovyโ€™s steadfast support of Calvert Hospice,โ€ stated Brenda Laughhunn, Executive Director.ย  โ€œDonations such as this help underwrite the costs of providing ongoing support for children and teens who are grieving the loss of a loved one through our Bridges and Camp Phoenix programs.โ€
