At approximately, 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, on Great Mills road near Westbury Blvd. in Lexington Park, Maryland State Police were conducting radar traffic enforcement and pulled over an older model Ford Crown Victoria for a traffic violation.
At the time, MSP questioned Antwuan Marquis Somerville, 20, ย and noticed two young children and another male in the vehicle. Somerville was asked to vacate the car and was patted down to search for weapons and placed under arrest for driving with a suspended license.
The suspect was handcuffed and placed in a county police car. Subsequent to arrest, the car was searched and when law enforcement officers went back to the county police car in which Somerville was placed, he was found to be hiding a large bag of marijuana. The controlled substance was confiscated by police and charges were added to the original complaint.
The other male was not arrested and allowed to drive the toddlers from the scene.
