Now that the heat of summer has finally arrived and with the economy still at record lows, families in search of inexpensive cool entertainment have an alternative. Every Saturday night, the Recreation Center at Leonard Hall is open for three hours for roller skating in cool, air-conditioned comfort.
St. Mary’s County Government recently announced that Saturday is Open Skate Night. The doors are open from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and the rink is available to the young at heart of any age.
Even better for families seeking entertainment and fun, admission is only $3 per person and for those without their own roller skates, the hall provides rentals for only $2.50 per pair.
