On Jan. 29, at 12:15 p.m., Trooper Wyer stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Route 4 at Calvert Beach Road in St. Leonard.
Upon making contact with the driver, Tpr. Wyer noticed a black gunbelt on the passenger side seat. The driver, Jeffrey L. Myers, 23 of Lusby, stated he worked as a security guard and was in possession of a handgun which was located under the driver’s seat.
Investigation revealed that a handgun permit had been applied for but not yet approved. The firearm was confiscated and charges are pending.
