Two Car Accident in La Plata, Maryland

WHITE PLAINS, Md. — An elderly man was extricated from his vehicle and taken to a trauma center on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025, after a two-vehicle crash along St. Charles Parkway in White Plains.

The collision was reported at about 2:20 p.m. at St. Charles Parkway and Smokey Mountain Drive. A 911 caller reported an elderly male driver had struck a guardrail and was unable to get out of his vehicle.

Fire, rescue and EMS crews were dispatched for a motor vehicle crash with entrapment. crews arrived to find the man trapped and established a rescue group to free him.

A box truck was also involved in the crash. EMS reported evaluating two people from the truck; both signed care refusals.

The elderly driver was extricated by about 2:43 p.m. and taken by ground to UM Capital Region Medical Center with potentially serious but not immediately life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
