At 1:09 p.m., it was reported that Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary’s Counties were under a severe thunderstorm watch until 9 p.m.
Isolated severe thunderstorms with damaging winds and large hail will be possible this afternoon and throughout the evening in northern Virginia, the DC metro area, and southern Maryland, according to National Weather Service of Baltimore, MD, and Washington, D.C.
A hazardous weather outlook has been detailed by the NWS for the Maryland portion of the Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River, and adjacent counties in central Maryland and northern Virginia as well as Washington, D.C.
The NWS anticipates the possibility of severe storms for the area Thursday as well.
