At 4:37 p.m. Jan. 1, Officer G. Barnhart of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Veterinary Emergency Treatment Center at 3485 Rockefeller Court in Waldorf, for a cruelty to animals report.
Doctors at the center reported they were treating a dog who had been shot with an arrow.
Investigation revealed a suspect shot a small, mixed breed dog with an arrow at a residence in the 2900 block of Thomas Road in Bryans Road sometime between 7 p.m. Dec. 31 and 3:30 a.m. Jan 1.
The dog was critically injured.
