Public Comment Sought to Update St. Maryโ€™s Countyโ€™s

Land Preservation Parks and Recreation Plan

ย

The Recreation and Parks Board of St. Maryโ€™s County invites the public to a meeting on Thursday, April 7, 2011, to solicit public input to update the 2005 St. Maryโ€™s County Land Preservation, Parks and Recreation Plan (LPPRP). ย The meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m., in the Chesapeake Building, 41770 Baldridge Street in Leonardtown.

ย

The LPPRP is an important document for identifying recreational, agricultural, and natural resource and open space preservation needs – both in the County and in the Town of Leonardtown. ย Once adopted, the LPPRP will guide County policies and actions to address those needs in the future. The LPPRP is updated every six years and offers the opportunity to reassess priorities in light of population growth and changing economic, social and market conditions. ย The St. Maryโ€™s County plan, along with the plans from other counties, will be used by the State to guide planning, funding and programs to meet land preservation, parks and recreation needs state-wide. ย ย ย
