SMCPS Administrative Appointments Announced

LEONARDTOWN, MD – Superintendent of Schools, Mr. J. Scott Smith, announces the administrative appointments made by the Board of Education at its meeting of April 26, 2017.

The Board appointed Ms. Cheryl Long as Director of Student Services in the Department of Student Services. Ms. Long holds a Master’s degree from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of St. Joseph. She has most recently served as the principal of White Marsh Elementary School.

Ms. Tammy Burr has been appointed as Coordinator of Special Programs in the Office of Strategic Planning and Communications. Ms. Burr holds a Master’s degree from Towson University and a Bachelor’s degree from Lock Haven University. She has most recently served as an Assistant Principal III at Chopticon High School.

These appointments will become effective July 1, 2017.
